It seems that a part is broken out. To your question above, yes you have to collimate it again. Bring prisms to middle position and check that no image is tilted while looking through each ocular. The good thing is that you can shift the prims later via the holes of the cover plates when body... -

Under cap you have the screw with two holes. After removing this screw you can remove the right ocular. The left ocular has a small screw which fixes the oculars bridge arm with the focus wheel below so that bridge will be leveled up when you turn focus wheel. Is this little screw broken at... -

Hi Pondweed, welcome to this forum. 9x40 is a rare configuration for Hartmann. I have found only 15 examples in the internet from the 50's till 70's (based on serial number) all Polerims no wide angle versions. Based on the spec for the 8x40 I would guess that with same AFOV of ~56° FOV would... -
FHR for 10x32 and 12x42 NL
Thats the reason why I use the FHR even for my 8x42. A great add-on for eye glass wearer. -

Of course when someone wants to spend 6k, Nikon will be preferred instead a Chinese product. But if a chinese manufacturer could make the same and sell it for 3k, some people may come interested. Perhaps another game changer
When a MIC binocular manufacturer could copy a NL pure with same specs and close quality they would sell it for 1500€ instead of 500€. Also chinese companies want to make profit. ;-)- Wasabrot

Strap question
Are have the bino always so close? As in your picture I wear it only during cycling or walking when I do not want to use it. When I'm in ready mode where have to be fast looking through the bino I have it much far away so the lose ends of the straps are much shorter. So no need for me to cut... -
