    I agreed that it was a Grey-chinned rather than a Scarlet from the wing pattern, Scarlet do have the isolated patches on the tertial. The altitude is also a good clue, no Scarlet is found high up beyond the upper gap, they can also be seen along the gap road where both species may meet.

    i created a list that includes those that are found in the local patch and an addition list on those that are seen flying by or perching or whatever they do about or on my house area, but of course with description whether they are just passerbys....
