Wild in Aberdeen - City and Shire

Not sure if anyone is interested in up-close encounters with common birds but there's a Blackbird's nest (there's a sign, you can't miss it) in B&Q, outdoor garden bit in amongst the bamboo. I could see three maybe four chicks being fed just a few feet away.

    Capercaillie

Getting up early isn't the problem, it's getting up early enough to make it to Loch Garten from Aberdeen by 5:30am :-O Last time it took me 4 hours to get there. Anyway I guess I'll give up hope until I happen to have an overnight stay somewhere close by.

    Capercaillie

How difficult is it to get Capercaillie without going on one of the RSPB Caper-watches? I can easily get to Loch Garten but the chances of making it there before 11am are slim and caper-watch runs from 5:30-8am :eek!:

Why were the trees removed? I would be after Capers at Loch Garten

Anywhere anyone recommends going this weekend, are those otters that were at Inverness a few months ago still showing? Is it worth going to Loch Garten if I can't possibly make it early enough for Caper-watch?

Not sure if it's just me but for the past few days there's been this thing shining in the sky, I'd think it was the Sun if I didn't know better :-O

I wonder how birds will do flying through the volcanic ash...

Not all of them, though I suppose I could see all of them but only stand on a few!

Looks like I've missed Winter! Not sure if that's good or bad but it feels like I've been hibernating :-O

Wild in Aberdeen - City and Shire

That's good, it also comes with just over an acre of land I think, of course in today's metric system an acre means nothing to me but according to Google it's the same as an American football field. Which also means nothing to me but I'm pretty sure it can't be that different from a "soccer"...

    Birds fae Torry

I'd think rocking horse excrement would be fairly rare, they're mostly wooden after all ;)

It's March, the daffodils have started flowering and I've realised how I've wasted a good bit of the year. The Spring and Summer better be bloomin' good.
