    Iceland Gull - South Coast Ireland

    Yeah they are coming through alright. Here is a pic of the same bird from the irish birding site (a much better shot of the bird than mine) - http://www.irishbirding.com/categories/sighting80751/23338_large.jpg I must also add it was originally put out as a gluacous gull but changed to Iceland

    I am pretty sure that it is an Iceland Gull alright but there werea few murmerings that it could have been a leucistic Herring Gull.

    Common Redshanks for me. Sometimes the legs can be orange in colour.

    Hi, This is one for any gull fans. Is this an Iceland Gull or perhaps a leucistic Herring Gull. My gut feeling it is that it is fine for an Iceland Gull but anybody have any opinions. I have a few more shots a bit more distant if required. Regards Stevensi

    Black woodpecker was my hunch to be honest. I've seen them in this area before. When I heard it call it was about 3 in the afternoon.

    Very poor recordings but I will give them a go anyway. The calls are from a wooded area close to a lake. The bird sounds very nasally when calling. It called every 3 or 4 minutes with 2 or 3 calls every time. I was here in winter and also heard the exact same call. Recording 1 - Cal is after 5...
