    Kowa Genesis XD 8x33 or Kowa BD II 8x42 XD?

    Worth noting is that the minimum IPD of the various KOWA lines differ. The eyecups differ. You have to try them out.

    On request, Zeiss will supply free extended eyecups for Conquest binoculars. I do not know if Zeiss does this for SF.

    SFL 8x40: impressions after 20 years with Swarovski EL's

    I find the Kowa 8x33 and 10x33 work well for me. I also find that SFL chatter is dwindling to crumbs of inanity sooner than I expected. The x30 cannot generate the same universal and sustained admiration that the x40 did. Physics.

    After more use, it is not enough fun (or more utility than a phone camera) to be worth the price. Image quality is poor, battery life is short, and importing photos is frustrating. Not recommended.

    Best Buy is selling Canon Power Shot Zoom kit (+micro SD card and PD charger) for $250. I bought it in Black. Came with firmware 1.1--not European Enhanced Firmware. Plenty of faults, as many have observed. The device is small, light, and fun, and does not replace a good telephoto lens...

    Vortex Customer Service 10 out of 10

    Vortex repaired my almost new DB 10x42 eyecup (jammed) and had it back to me in about 10 days. Very pleasant people on the phone.

    In case this was confusing, I was citing another's thread. I still do not know why the admirable 8x32 is now chosen over the admirable10x32, which was chosen back then, except for the wider FOV.

    A year ago: I tried the NL 8x42 and personally had quite a bit of glare in the bottom of the FOV, so I gave up on it. I tried all the new 32 mm alpha's including the SF 8x32, SF 10x32, NL 8x32 and the NL 10x32, and they are all superb. They are all overall some of the best binoculars for birding...

    My opthamologist told me I would not see any difference unless I had cataract surgery.
