    Bartley reservoir

Had a few top tips on Twitter. Dark mantle and chunky neck suggesting YLG - these are pretty clear on the photos, classic overexcitement on my part convincing myself otherwise! Gony spot looks pretty big too, just wish I'd got a clearer photo showing the bill more clearly. Would've shut myself...

Caspo or Yello Morning all. Having some issues with a bird I saw at Bartley on 21st. I had it down as possibly a Caspian originally but my photos are leading me down some contradictory paths. Any thoughts on the attached pics? (For me: grey shade compared to BHG, tail/primaries held low, and...

Held tight in the hide for a while to dry off and had Common, Green and Wood sands (Wood new for me). RSPB warden popped in briefly, thanks...

    Dowles Brook, Wyre Forest

Nailed it... Popped down Dowles Brook for the 'annual pilgrimage' this morning, doing the 4.5 mile circular from Dry Mill Lane over a 5 hour period-ish (day totals in brackets). Starting along the railway line had plenty of the usuals; Chiffchaff, Magpie, Woodpigeon, Wren, Crow, Blue Tit...

Birdguides and birding today has Garganey as at Flashes, pressume they have shared erroneous info?

    Birding in Worcestershire

Large swift over A491 near Clent yesterday @ c1230. Looked large and more barrelled than common, possible Alpine but didn't clock any white in brief view had - by no means likely but might be worth keeping an eye out in area.

Springs picking up more obviously on the Digbeth Branch now. Had a pair of Blackcaps the last two days and Chiffchaffs singing, Canada Geese have set up nests and territories for a short while now with one egg noted but unfortunately left untended, and had 3 Swallows over this morning...
