What did you see in your binoculars today?

Unfortunately, I have been watching a couple forest fires through the binoculars today. Impressive but scary at the same time.

    Nikon Fieldscope FOV question

I am curious if the field of view changes much between the different fieldscopes when swapping the 16x 24x 30x WDS eyepiece. Is the FOV wider at 16x on the ED50 vs 30x on the ED82? Thanks in advance!

    Frustrated Eyeglass Wearers Rejoice

I have heard that the focus of the scope should compensate but at least for me and on every scope I've used I have always seen details more clearly when viewing through my prescription lenses.

    Frustrated Eyeglass Wearers Rejoice

As someone who wears eyeglasses I have always struggled with eye relief of spotting scopes. I wanted to share something that has made my spotting scope experience much much better. I had an old pair of glasses with broken frames and I popped out the lenses. Then attached the right lens directly...

Nikon ED50: Which lens for great eye relief?

I must have read through every forum post ever written on this scope and even though they all say how great it is... when I pull my eye from the scope I still can't believe that this little plastic "toy" is putting out that image. I've had several scopes over the years, compact Leupold 13-30x50...

    Penticton, BC

We are up in Penticton on vacation. Got out for a nice bike ride this morning. Heard and saw my first canyon wren. It didn't hang out for a picture but was really cool to see. We also saw a very brave little ruffed grouse.

If you own one pair of glasses ...

I just upgraded and got an older Swarovski EL 8.5x42 non-SV. Right now it's my only binocular and most likely will be for a very long time.

Nikon ED50: Which lens for great eye relief?

Thank you for the replies. I went ahead and ordered the angled version along with the 27x ds eyepiece. I've got a backpacking trip coming up in the middle of September and I am excited to be packing this little scope around.

Nikon ED50: Which lens for great eye relief?

I am on the hunt for a compact spotting scope and although I would really love the Kowa 553 it is out of my price range. My digging around has pointed me to the Nikon ED 50. I am trying to decide which eyepiece to get for optimal eye relief. I wear glasses and have always been bothered when I...

    Hello Birdforum

Thank you all. We have a say's phoebe that has been nesting under the eave of our shop. I am not a full on birder but more of a wildlife observer / deer hunter who watches the birds when there isn't any other wildlife around and as you all know that's most of the time. I had a great...
