    Down there today lots of commons around at least two flocks of 50+. Eventually found the 2-bars in the larch near the pylons, two males seen with about 20 commons. Good luck if you go up there tomorrow.

    Couple of reference calls from a paper by Colin Bradshaw on the identification of Siberian Chiffchaff http://www.ntbc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Siberian-Chiffchaff.pdf comparison of calls are on page 4. On comparison, perhaps I would lean towards P.c.tristis.

    Went down yesterday with highendofthelow. Green woodpecker nuthatch garden warbler (feeding young) grey wags blue tits and great tits (both feeding young) buzzard (carrying away its lunch) 6 jays 3 dippers (good views of 2 and fleeting glimpse of 3rd) kingfisher

    Had an hour down the brook last evening. Female Goshawk around the bird boxes. Gsw and tree creeper both feeding young. Grey wags on the brook, but no sign of dippers or kingfishers. Wood and garden warbler, chiffchaff and blackcap as well as the normal tits, robins, thrush, etc
