    LEUPOLD 8x32

Thanks for the replies, it was pretty much what I was thinking but nice to hear it confirmed. I'm waiting on a replacement pair from them, and have been waiting for a very long time indeed. R

    LEUPOLD 8x32

Hi there, can anyone shed any light on the differences between these two: BX-2 TIOGA HD 8x32 vs BX-4 PRO GUIDE HD 8x32 Am I correct to assume that the BX-4 will just be far superior? It is hard to find any info online about the discontinued TIOGA. Thanks - Robert

    Review: GPO Passion HD 8x42

Optics Warehouse in UK currently have these on clearance at £299 (branded as GECO GOLD) (currently only shipping to UK addresses)

UK binocular deals, special offers and bargains

Thanks very much for this link. I just snapped up the last pair of 10x32 for £130. They are to replace a pair of 8x32 Leupold BX3 Mojave that find themselves in dire need of repair/service. I did a bit of looking around and everywhere else that sells them has them at around £350. It seems that...

Binocular advice - $1000 or so. Boat use...

David, that is rather uncanny: as the movie so nearly says "Of all the gin palaces in all the world, you had to post a link to that one..." So... you just posted a link to the sister boat of the one my friend works on. They look damn near identical, only the one you posted is about two years...

Binocular advice - $1000 or so. Boat use...

Thanks already. The boat is a dry stable boat - think 45 metre long gin palace. From what he is now saying I don't think he is that worried about them being marine types as if he needs that he can use the boat binoculars... Sounds like he just wants something personal that is high quality that...

Binocular advice - $1000 or so. Boat use...

Friend of mine is soon to become captain of a boat and is thinking about buying himself a good pair of binoculars, and he asked me about it and I thought that the encyclopaedic knowledge of the forum might be of more help to him. 1. The boat has a couple of pairs of Steiner marines on board...

    Nikon SE or EII

I think price differences are maybe greater than you are imagining, Jerry? Monarch 7 8x30 £279 at CC (=US$462) vs $296 in USA (>56% MORE) Monarch 5 8x42 £299 at CC (=US$496) vs $247 in USA (>100% MORE) In the end I bought a "mint" BX3 Mojave from the for sale section...

    Nikon 8x42 Monarch 5..?

Yeah sorry nut paying attention. Whenever I have mentioned the monarch 7 I have been talking about the 8x30. It's actually cheaper than the m5 here in UK.

    <$300 compact 8x32 recommendation

Yeah I know that FOV made me dismiss it until I started reading about it. Very odd they should have such a critical purchase decision stat so very wrong. Also the weight is way off (read the threads below) Funnily enough I was trying to find out about the M7 and there is a big thread on here...

    Nikon 8x42 Monarch 5..?

Smaller and lighter, but mainly a much bigger FOV. If you had both I would guess you would hardly ever use the M5.

    Nikon 8x42 Monarch 5..?

send it back and get the M7 at least that way you get a much better FOV! As Brock's french uncle always says "why-derr eees beeeetteeer" ;)

    <$300 compact 8x32 recommendation

Apparently that spec is wrong, Brock. If you read the threads about it the true FOV is 8deg, (also it's a little heavier than they claim.) Everyone that bought it loves it, but it seems like a huge own goal for Leupold to have that spec wrong on their website, no? Robert

Suggestions for bins with $1100.00 budget?

I didn't buy anything that they recommended, but I found that reading their report was very helpful.
