    Great day at Hale.

We had a fantastic day at Hale. We packed the kids up and took a walk near the old lighthouse. Plenty of waders about - turnstone, oystercatchers, redshank, and curlew. There were also a few raptors over the nearby fields. We got some lovely views of a female buzzard perched on the fence...

Wader id - New Brighton UK

Much prefer new brighton myself, although love east sussex. As for imperfections you'd be hard pushed to find an area without them. Last time i visited Leeds was hardly breath-taking!!!!

Thanx for the help. Thought as much just wanted to make sure!! New Brighton is across the mersey from liverpool. Not as nice as "old" Brighton!!! Had some good birding days down there and surrounding areas. Have you ever tried the cuckoo walk between halisham - polegate?? Fantastc for birds!!

She just got a little to close and ignored the birds warning noises and got a rather nasty pecking on her rear!! Was quite sore at first but seems to have settled now!

Yes the bird was caught, not by me but by the getleman who works with the bird regularly.

The gentleman doesn't actually own the bird, he works for a centre and does displays. There was one Saturday morning at the stately home in our village and that is where she disappeared from. He has been working with Lola for about a year he said.

Well according to the gentleman who came to collect her, she is a juv golden. I have no idea myself as i have never ever seen an eagle before except at the zoo!!! He says she is only a year or 2 old. Whatever she was she was gorgeous and was quite nice once she was calm. Even let me stroke...
