    Feeder to prevent Starlings

Many thanks for the replies. I'll give the cage a go. I don't want to kick out the starlings, I like them. In the right light their feathers look really nice. Its just I saw to save the berry feed for the tits, as it is the most expensive feed I buy. There is plenty of stuff I put on the bird...

    Feeder to prevent Starlings

I've been putting out a Berry Fruit Feed for the couple of Blue Tits (and the odd Great Tit) that visit my garden. They love it, but the local starling flock of around 40+ birds do as well. Now I don't mind the starlings, in quite fun watching them fight all the time, However as the starlings...

Are there any Birds in the UK the same size as a wren? Just I saw a small bird, about half the size of a Robin that was near in, and the girlfriend thinks it must have been a Wren. cheers Peter

    Gosport / Pompy/ Hayling Island

Thinking of going out for my first day of birdwatching away from a reserve and wasthinking of the Gosport, Pompy and Hayling Island area. Got the book on suggested sites. Been reading about there being some nice gulls and other rare birds there recently. Just wondering if anyone knows what is...

Why do many other people think we are strange?

So you think bird watching is above Train Spotting then... As a train spotter / Plane spotter and recent convert to bird watching I would say that they are all the same.... a hobby.. nothing more... nothing less

    Birds suddenly eating more..

We'd love goldfinches too, but we already have collared doves... three of them, two of which get bullied by the magpies but the third one pecks back, much to the suprise of the magpies... love to have some smaller birds around, but apart from a robin that seems to live in my garden thats it.

How many birds would you think is "general knowledge"

Well I've only been into birdwatching for a couple of months and here's what I learnt so far.... 1) You get funny looks after telling another birder that you seen "Seagulls" 2) You get funny looks after telling another birder that you seen "Ducks" 3) But say that you saw a "little brown bird" -...
