    Asian Hornet

    We get them here in central France and have to report any nests. Sting appears to be worse than the European Hornet. A few people became very ill last summer from the sting.

    Pied or White Wagtail?

    Hi Louis, its a White Wagtail. Easiest way to tell adult birds apart is by the colour of the mantle (back). Grey in White Wagtail and Black in Pied Wagtail.

    3 ID's central-France

    Hi 1 is a Black Redstart as you guessed, 2 looks like a female Blackbird and 3, possibly a Black Kite, all very common here in Central France

    Lost Swallow

    We had a similar situation last year here in France. The second brood of three young hung around our barn for another couple of weeks after all the others in the village departed. Eventually they left too.
