3d printing nest boxes
It is not difficult to build a 3D model but I am not very keen to try it. A few reasons: 1. Wood is easy and effective. As Janar said wood of minimum 2cm thickness is recommended. If you 3D print then it should be ok to print with infill of 10% or so. Air will be a good insulator. 2. The model... -

Thanks Delia. It did look like another female outside begging for food. Seems that she got the wrong bird/place begging at another female. They tend to line the nest with soft materials on top of the grass/moss. I guess it provides better insulation and is kinder to the naked skin of the chicks. If you look at blue tit bird cameras on Youtube, they all do this. I've heard people putting out dog hair and the birds are happy to use... -
