    Birmingham City Centre

Just over a month ago I saw a pair of Peregrines on the BT Tower whilst waiting on the platform of Snow Hill station. So must be a good sign of nesting.

    Priory Fields

Paid my first visit to Priory Fields today, before moving on to the Stratford Canal and then back to Trittiford. In contrast to the first thread there were three Little Egrets on the neighbouring Mill Pool and two Heron. It looked a very promising area with a diversity of species and I will be back.

Heard a very loud 'mewing' this morning. All the sparrows and starlings scarpered. Looking up for a Buzzard, I found a Jay on a tree-top. Urban Ravens

I live in Olton, close to the Solihull / Birmingham border. This year I have started to see Ravens overhead on a sporadic basis. Usually a single bird or a pair. This week alone I have seen a pair twice over my house and this afternoon at my local patch a short walk away, I saw four birds...

    sheepwash urban park

Visited Sheepwash for the second time today. A lovely venue spoilt by the obvious reluctance of Sandwell Council to empty the litter bins. Several Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Willow Warbler calling. Reed Bunting and Reed Warbler flitting around the main pool edge. Four Cormorant, Little Grebe and...

Pair of Kingfisher calling each other on Grand Union Canal, Acocks Green this afternoon. First time I've seen more than one and first spot since last December on this stretch.

    Kingfishers

Kingfisher on Olton Mere this morning. First time I've spotted it after several visits during the past 4 months. I regularly saw it this time last year, so pleased it has re-appeared !
