    First bobwhites

    Somewhat new to the East Coast. Saw my first of these guys the other day...just as dumb as their western relatives. Earlier when I got home they were just standing in the road. Later on they just came ambling up my driveway. Cool looking lil buds.

    Curious Red shouldered hawk

    Yeah in this photo it was about 15-20 ft (5-7 m) away. And the raptors are pretty wild. I went canoeing and saw quite a few barred owls which was amazing. I only noticed them because they moved. I see osprey almost every week and bald eagles almost every month without looking for them.

    Thanks for the reply. I didn't find them, I'm not that familiar with the site yet. But maybe it's for the best, my gf would not be unable to comprehend me spending $1300 on an older pair of binoculars (I'm still trying to convince her we need a "nice pair").
