GPO Passion HD 8x42 versus ED 8x42?

I bought the GPO Passion ED 8x42 a few months back when I sended in my SFL's for guarantee and I am impressed with them ever since. Took them with me to Gran Canaria last november and they served in a terrific way. If you ask me, they are very hard to beat in this price segment. Very sharp with...

Who is still viewing through Victory HT 42s?

Have an 8x42 HT here which had a defect at the focus wheel. Zeiss fixed it free of charge, eventhough they were past guarantee. Best focus system in binocular world I guess. The only one that might be on par is the Noctivid.

Lightweight tripod with fluid head for scope - recommendations?

At the moment my ATX 65 is mounted on the VA-5 without any problem. Not a chance the Manfrotto would me capable of doing that. About tripods, I really like the Leofoto tripods and more specific the Urban LX serie wich has 3 leg sections (Very compact and thus fits my trollie when going by plane)...

Lightweight tripod with fluid head for scope - recommendations?

Reinier, I had both the MVH-400AH and Sirui VA-5 for a while. The Sirui does weigh a little more but is very close in terms of size and compactness. The absolute advantage the Sirui has over the Manfrotto is its functionality. It really works much better and is definitely more solidly built. I...

    SFL 8x30 worth it?

Biggest bonus for me personally besides light weight and compact size is the close-focus of 1.5m. That's a gamechanger. About de 30mm's being worth the cost I can only say that de 40's are... So I guess/hope de 30's wille be too

Zeiss SFL in Field use robust?

I've bought mine (8x40) last august. After my first seawatch, I think some beach-sandparticles found their way into my focuswheel and the wheel got stuck for 3-4 times after that. I just pressed through it. Ever since I feel like the wheel itself has become more uneven and a little more stiff. I...

    Opticron MM3 and MM4

I compared my own MM3 50 ED SDLv2 to an MM4 60 ED SDLv3 some time ago and beside the higher zoom range of the 60, the only real difference that I thought I could see was that in de MM4 SDLv3 de colourfidelty was slightly cooler and seemed to me a little more naturel. In terms of Sharpness and...

    Leofoto BV-10 vs. BV-5

Maybe a little late to tune in but for a heavy scope as a Harpia 95 I'd choose (between those 2) without a doubt for the BV-10. You should definitely also consider the Sirui VH-10 as well. I personally like the Sirui more since the units I tried were running smoother than any of my 3 BV 10's I...

GPO Passion ED vs Vanguard Endeavor EDIV

Although I never tried out the Passion ED, I did had the Endaevor Ed IV 8x42 for half a year and it never really impressed me (Meopta Optika HD (wich I compared aside) is to my opinion obviously better for less money). I'd always go for the GPO in a heartbeat. I really liked The Passion HD 8x42...

    New Diamondback spotting scopes

Hi Qwerty, I have never looked through the older Diamondback 65. All I can say is that, at least to my 'birding' needs, those Diamondback HD's are not good enough. Let's say that, when putting them side by side with my Opticron mm3 50mm sdlv2, the latter just blows them away! No excuses! The...
