Summer 2012 - Peljesac Peninsula - Dubrovnik to Orebic

Hi,all Peljesac area is rich with birds so you shouldn't have problems. Don't wander off to uncharted territory, though, there might be some landmines. Just stick to well charted and marked paths. Also, a little offtopic: a great white shark has just been spotted in Peljesac sea area, so be careful.

Why don't we have a group or something? Or is there some kind of Birdwatching community in Croatia that I don't know...

    Spotting owls in the dark

Thanks for your help, my dad said he was going to try with the torch, because he thinks there might be more than one, so perhaps at least one will stay put.

    Spotting owls in the dark

Hi, everybody! My dad heard a Scops owl last time he was on holiday, and soon he's going again, so I'm interested if anybody has any advice on how to actually SEE the bird. He heard it every night in the park outside the hotel, but he couldn't locate it exactly. Is there some way to attract it...

    How to attract bluejays

Hi, does anyone know if peanuts in shell is going to work on regular, Eurasian jays? And I don't have a feeder or a garden, just a balcony, but they have come a few times when i put seeds and corn on the ledge. But I don't think they actually ate it. I heard they are very shy and don't want to...

    Hi from Montenegro

Hi, there! I've visited Skadar Lake in the summer of 2010, just a few months after I started birdwatching, and I was fascinated by it! I'm so sorry it's not very known among birdwatchers 'cause it's really beautiful. And what I like the most is that birds don't seem that frightened by people, so...

    Greetings from Croatia

Hello, everyone! I'm very happy to find this forum, it's really interesting and educational. In Croatia, birding is still a novelty so I don't have anyone to talk to about it. So I'm glad I have this place and all of you to nag with my perpetual questions! |;|
