    New binos by mid June.

I read about your trip, and looking forward to something that will be best, would be something in the 8X range, that means 8x32 or 8x42. 10 power is too much in the woods and for many other needs. Don't get the 8x25, that is a specialist, compact binocular. The Zeiss Conquest, Nikon Monarch...

Leica UV 8x20 versus Zeiss Victory 8x25

I suppose there is one that should be mentioned that competes very well with the entire lot mentioned. The Zeiss Terra 8x25 is the one. For ease of use, more friendly than the fussy little 8x20's, and a great value. Jerry

Leica UV 8x20 versus Zeiss Victory 8x25

I suppose to sum things up, these are both very good binoculars. The Leica is smaller, but the Zeiss is better. You choose. Jerry

    S.O.N.A. Repair 8x32 EL

I really love your story, I have also found the 8x32 EL ergos. to be very nice, I can say my favorite. I have smallish hands and they just fit great. And I also agree about the Leupold Yosemite 6x30, I have given several of them to my grandchildren, when they reach age 5. That is a little...

Efficient lens caps for 8x42 Victory SF wanted

I agree it is too bad Zeiss came up with the odd and hard to use objective covers. Since the barrels are not round a regular cover will not work well. Two plugs dangling on a cord are not effective but rather a bad joke............... Jerry

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

Return it, no matter what the problem is, it is not good, and you will never be pleased with your purchase. Jerry

    Swarovski focus wheels

The EL is the only one that uses a spring to help the focuser go back and forth, that is why the reports of the resistance thing, not really an issue. The only model with an open bridge design is the EL, and Swaro. decided to do it this way. Jerry

Binocular Comparison: Nikon Prostaff ATB 8x25 reverse porro vs. Hawke Endurance ED 8x25

I think you are on the right track. I have experience, the Nikon TraveLite 8x25 is similar to the Prostaff being a reverse porro, and the optics are quite good. I also have tried some cheap roofs like the Nikon Acculon in that size range and the optics are not real good. So, the better value...

Leitz: Alphas from yesteryear, still in use today.

I like your thinking, I would love to try a 6x24 someday. I've learned they are very good. You have a very nice collection, I have the 7x35 and 10x40. Thanks for posting, I like the older optics, like the Trinovids and the Dialyts, they are not far off the new versions, except for...

    Swarovski focus wheels

All of those models have different focuser designs, my only complaint has been with the EL. Just to make myself clear. I said that above. Jerry

    Swarovski focus wheels

I've owned well over 20 Swarovski binoculars, and I will say that the focusers can vary. The only focusers I've found issues with are the EL models, that means a little rough, sticky, etc. I have one right now that I am debating on sending it in for that now. The optics are top rate, but the...
