A reed bunting. Common enough but first I've seen actually in Perth. South Inch duck pond.

Yes, the lead male is a chaffinch with a supporting cast of blue tit and willow warbler.

    Stonechat today, Fife, Scotland

There were a handful of stonechats at Fife Ness early this morning and this one was noticeably paler than the others. Just a nicely marked rubicola? Sorry about the image quality - took it with my phone as I had my camera in my backpack! Doh! :D

Nice birding at Killiecrankie and Craig Fonvuick this morning. Tree pipits, redstarts (lots), wood warblers and a female pied flycatcher the highlights. And the first cuckoos for me of 2024!

    Trossachs

Didn't find a recent thread so apologies if there already is one. Anyway, walked the Loch Ard circular on Saturday morning. Birding was decent but as the day wore on the number of lycra-clad cyclists and dog walkers made it impossible. Shame as it has a lot of potential.

Terrific birding walking the Loch Leven heritage trail this morning. (4 hours, 28 minutes thanks for asking) :D Warbler wonderland with chiffchaffs, willow warblers, blackcaps & sedge warblers every few yards. There were plenty whitethroats in the hedgerows along the west side of the loch and...

I don't think any of the ospreys visiting the nest site have been LM12. She gave up and went and caught a fish for herself this afternoon.

    Tayforth Birding

Looks like the ospreys at Loch of the Lowes might fail this year. 3 eggs laid but male not seen for several days and female now leaving nest for extended periods of time.
