    Remote forest, Northumberland, England

Many thanks for taking the time to respond and educate me! The juv Goshawk seemed to be doing a display [or at least an interesting twisting] flight (this was taken a week ago) but sadly didn't get close enough for decent pics!

    Remote forest, Northumberland, England

Hi, Two sets of photos, probably two different birds but the first was seen just a few minutes after the second. Wondered if this would help in the identification of both? Remote coniferous forest in Northern England. I'm thinking Sparrowhawk and Kestrel but appreciate your help.

Hi all. You never fail to help me with my ID so thanks in advance! First of all I think Booted Eagle, which was soaring around near our hotel being mobbed by hirundines and swifts. The warbler (both pics are the same bird) was in the garden of our hotel and had a beautiful song. The falcon...

    Large raptor - Lintzford Lane

Driving home just now (5pm) I came through Hamsterley and a Red Kite flew over my car. This is relevant as it demonstrates that I know the size and jizz of a Kite. As I neared Lintzford Lane to drive up it, I could see another large raptor in the field at the bottom of the lane. It appeared...

    Jandia, Fuerteventura - October 2014

I've just got back from a week's holiday based at Esquinzo. Didn't get a chance to do too much birding but had a great time. We went to the Oasis Wildlife Park at La Lajita and as soon as we got off the bus spotted a Fuerteventura Chat on a telephone wire. I only got out for one solo walk up the...

    Yorkshire Birding

Plenty of raptors around Wensleydale anyway. I was surprised to see a Red Kite being hassled by at first by a pair of Kestrel, followed by a pair of Ravens and finally around four Buzzards. Interesting to get them all in one frame to compare the size differences. The kite kept playing with...
