    Please help ID bird in Umbria, Italy

    Seen today in Umbria. Bigger than a common buzzard. Sailing slowly. Based on its sound (birdnet) and earlier sightings I was thinking of short-toed snake eagle? Dark head, light underside. I know video is very bad 😞 Not good enough to ID?

    Tx! That was our guess. Also saw three Short-toed snake eagles today. Lots of bee eaters And at night a Black-crowned night heron taking a quick dip in the pool (or catching an insect?) two meters away from us!

    Hi Joachim, Thanks for the suggestion. housofoutdoor is rather far (5 hours round trip), but who knows. Will try to visit Foto Rooijmans Budel, uw verrekijker winkel voor Swarovski, Leica & Zeiss As for budget and preferences, I posted a question in the wrong folder...

    ID please - seen on 15-8-22 in Urmein Switzerland (near Thusis)

    Hi, This is my first post on birdforum. Sorry for the extremely low quality photos taken with a cheap phone through binoculars. Bird was bigger than a pigeon, sitting for over 30 minutes in the top of this pine tree. Tx Mook
