    Are magnifications additive?

    If I am using a point and shoot camera at 3x and a 7x monocular, am I getting 10x magnification? Or some other mathematical answer?

    Focus settings ?

    Starting out digiscoping with a Redfield Regal 25 x spotting scope and a Canon Powershot A1400 point and shoot camera. My question is, is it better to set the camera focus range to Macro, Normal or Landscape mode?
