    Some Caribbean Birds

Here are three birds I photographed on a recent Caribbean cruise. The first was seen in Balata Gardens on Martinique. I think it is a Green-throated Carib (Eulampis holosericeus), but it is hard to be sure from just the back and this is the only photo I got of it. I think the 2nd bird is an...

    SE Asian Bird Identification

Thanks all for the help. The pink legs fooled me on the Grey Heron. Based on location I'm going with juvenile Streak-eared Bulbul for #3 and juvenile Golden-bellied Gerygone for #4. I'm listing #2 as a probable Eurasian Curlew.

Booby of North Coast of Borneo

Thanks Andy & Andrew for confirming. There were lots of Brown Boobies flying around the ship too, but this one stood out as being quite different.

Booby of North Coast of Borneo

I'm pretty sure this is an Red-footed Booby (Sula sula), but the dark bill tip isn't characteristic of this species. I checked several bird guides for, but couldn't find any illustrations that matched this bill coloring?

    SE Asian Bird Identification

Photos #1 and #2 were both taken from a long distance on the Saigon River, Vietnam #1 Based on the pink legs, I believe this is a Sarus Crane (Grus antigone), but there doesn’t appear to be any red on the face and upper neck, so I’m not sure. #2 It seems most likely that this is Eurasian...

    Murre ID, Newfoundland

Is the bird on the left a Thick-billed Murre or just a Common Murre hunched down? Taken on 5/26/15 on Gull Island out of Bay Bulls, Newfoundland. Thanks for any help.

    Big Bend NP Shorebird

My son and I were in Big Bend National Park for 3 days. We saw lots of new birds, but a few were hard for us to ID. I would like to confirm or correct our ID of these flycatchers. We found that the best birding sites are Daniels Ranch, Sam Nail Ranch and Chisos Basin. I got these three distant...

    Condors near Santa Barbara

We'll be in Santa Barbara, CA in late September and I understand that this is a good place to look for California Condors in the wild. Can someone give me some ideas about where we should go and what time of day is best? Any help will be much appreciated

Verify ID of Birds in Sydney, Australia

It was at Mitchell Park, Northwest of Sydney. Fortunately, Andrew Patrick from Zest for Birds, knew how to get there. I would have never found it. And, thanks to all of you for your help on these photos.
