What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

Why change, if you don't see CA's ? Then I would be happy with your ´very nice collection :-)) I pulled the trigger today and will get the Kowa within next days - then I can report. FWIK, there are no weak areas, but lets see. Rainer

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

Though I like Allbinos very much, this might be misleading, as pointed out. Measurements can be done in different ways and in the field it can show up deviating again. As already written in this thread, I could compare several bins on a Birdshow and the KOWA Genesis 8x33 was the best of all...

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

Mark, good to hear, they improved on CA, but all other would have been a desaster at this price tag :-)) Concerning MINOX HG 8x33 MiG - only slamming for CA :-)) Frankly, its an excellent bin in many ways. Sharp, bright, very brilliant and absolutely solid manufacturing. They use SCHOTT glass...

double checked that according to some brochures I collected and it was the OLD EL 8x32, so NOT the Swarovision! I can't reply to the latter. Rainer

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

The Zeiss HD 8x32 was of interest, but a dealer told me, its a brick! Nearly as big as the 8x42. So I phased it out.

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

That was end of summer 2010 - if they have been available that time, then it can be, but I am not sure. Its no secret and well known, that Swaro is prone for CA. BTW - Minox HG 8x33 MiG was also there - awful CA!

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

Thank you all so far! The Vortex and Zen-Ray are difficult to get here and I do not like to make use of the return-policy more often and this does not work well outside Germany. When I looked through the KOWA Genesis 8x33 there also was a Zeiss Victory FL 8x32 and a Leica Ultravid HD at hand...

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

Hi Brock, several years ago I even owned a Nikon SE 8x42. The view into the eyepieces was difficult for me, blackouts etc. I wear glasses, but normally not with a bin. IMHO the SE also had strong CA and I sold it. The 8x30 EII serial was starting 81...if I remember right and below was "AM"...

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

Frank, just to clarify a bit...at $ 180 its surely a bargain - I bought it from the german distributor, which was the only source. They billed me EUR 246,-, which is US $ 320. Then it looks different. If you PM me your email, I can send PDF of the invoice, if you like.

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

Hi Frank, your reviews are excellent and the Sightron is really good for the money, but obviously some guys are extremely sensitive for CA's. I am happy to hear, its not only me :-)) Tomorrow I can write a more detailled report about the bins I tested. Finally biggest WOW of the Nikon 8x30...

What binoculars do you think have the most WOW factor!

@ Leif and James + 1 Totally agree with Leif and James! Finally some guys see the same annoying CA's as I. Since about 2 years I am reading here and looking for a really good midsize 8x32 Binocular. But all those well tested bins with "non-discernible CA's" totally failed! Among those were...
