    Buntings and Finches

Hi all, Apologies in advance as this is probably a very silly question, but what is the differences between the two. Looking through my books they look very similar in general shape ect(jizz?). What makes a bunting a bunting as oppossed to a finch. knot.

    BA's or Ultravid's

Hi Guys, After a happy couple of hours on the Leica stand at the Lee Valley bird fair I decided on the Ultravid 8x32. I can understand some peoples view that they're too small, because they are very small but fitted into my hands like a glove. They arrived today and I'm playing with them now...

    BA's or Ultravid's

Nick, Thanks for that, I haven't heard about the possible price increase, but if true it will certainly make me decide quicker. Will be looking at the 8x32 and 8x42 Ultravids at the show. knot

    BA's or Ultravid's

Just returned from the shop disappointed and empty handed. It would appear that the box, strap, rain guard, warranty and passport have been mislaid, after being original told everything was there. I was offered the shops one year guarantee but decided against it, Thanks for the replies and...

    BA's or Ultravid's

Postcardcv, You are absolutely right when you say, "will I regret not having the Ultravids", but the Ultravids are twice the price, but I bet their not twice as good. Chartwell99' My friends got a pair of the Nikon 8x42 HGL, superb, very light. Judging by the prices reached on a certain well...

    BA's or Ultravid's

My local dealer has a pair of Leica 8x32BA's, brand new for £399. The question is do I buy them or wait until I can afford the Ultravids, Any thoughts please, the BA's at that price do seem to be a bargain. knot.

    Ultravid 8x42 or 8x32?

Thanks guys never really considered the 7x42's. I've just seen that Leica Optics will be at the Lee valley Bird fair in a couple of weeks, I'll hang on untill then and have a good look at all three pairs. knot.

    Ultravid 8x42 or 8x32?

I've read on Leica site that the 42's have twilight factor of 18, and the 32's have a factor of 16. I field conditions does the lower factor really make very much difference in the light gatherind stakes? I do very little early dawn or late dusk birding, so it probably doesn't really matter that...

    ultravid 8x32 or 8x42

I like a small pair of bino's, in actual field conditions are the 42's noticeable brighter than the 32's. I don't want to make an expensive mistake. Many thanks.

    Dominican Republic

Hi, Just returned from the Dom and saw a small black bird with white eye stripes and a bright yellow chest. It must be very common out there as we saw them very often in the gardens of our hotel, but I haven't a clue as to what it was. Any ideas? Knot.
