Jonny Atkinson

Pencil drawing has been an interest of mine ever since I was a young boy. Every Saturday I would religiously pick up the latest football magazine or my favourite comic and try to copy the players and super heroes I saw before me. As the likeness of my boyhood idols began to get better I started to enjoy the process of creating artwork even more. I continued to develop my love of art through school and college and eventually graduated with a Fine Art BA Honours from Kingston University in 2008.

My Love for Wildlife & Nature

I have been a keen wildlife and nature lover all of my life. We are so blessed in Britain to be able to open our doors and windows and be surrounded by an abundance of various animals, birds, insects and plants. From woodland and coastal walks, through to the simplicity of listening to a bird’s morning song. I have found nature to be a powerful tool in helping to alleviate the stresses of everyday life.

I have recently begun working on my bird drawings in order to educate myself about the glorious animals and nature that we co-inhabit with. I hope that my artwork can provide a sense of mindfulness and reinforce our vital connection to the planet. My vision is to produce a lifetime body of work that helps to engage others about the urgent matters regarding natural habitats. I believe it is our duty to help encourage all aspects of nature to thrive. Small changes to our mindsets and lifestyles can make a massive difference to the world’s eco-systems.
