    Review of 8x25 Victory Pocket

I bought these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171844570162 Very quickly fitted to my pockets (mid-way through writing this post) they look like this: Which somebody on some forum (possibly this one) had suggested, and I was happy with them... Not sent from the UK but at £4.68 including delivery...

Brief note on Canon 10x30 IS Battery Door issue

Yes, they just sent me the part of the image that referred to the focusing knob. It was extremely easy to replace... peel off the sticky bit on the front, unscrew, replace, etc.

Suggestions appreciated for a spotting scope for astronomy

I wouldn't particularly recommend adapting a lens unless you have an expensive bit of glass you'd like to have a play with (plus have a use for the Prism and Barlow). That said in the picture in addition to a Canon EF mount lens there's a bunch of bits I largely copied from...

Brief note on Canon 10x30 IS Battery Door issue

I think it depends what's broken or failed. I'd try and find out who provides Canon spare parts in the U.S. and ask them what parts are available. Also perhaps they have the full parts drawing that I posted part of (the only part I have) earlier in the thread. Good Luck!

    Birding Scope plus Barlow.

BTW if it can't focus at infinity if possible reduce the length the light has to travel. For example some Barlows can be screwed into a 45 or 90 degree image erector after removing the external tube on that side, or screwed directly into some eyepieces. I thought a Barlow usually helped with...

Canon 10x30 IS stabilised binocular sticky covers

They're They are not ancient if I use them regularly and enjoy them :)... I have a number of pairs of binoculars, but only the Canon 10x30 IS, Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25 and Fujinon FMT-SX 16x70 get much use, but it was a huge mistake to buy the latter as the individual eyepiece focusing is just...

Canon 10x30 IS stabilised binocular sticky covers

Not always though, mine are now 23 and the only issues were the focusing knob getting sticky after c. 20 years and the glue holding the metal plate in the battery compartment lid giving up at 22 years. (Sub £20 to fix both myself.) The body coating is still as-new.

Which ones are your dream binoculars?

I'd like a pair of Canon compact 14x40 IS binoculars with better optics than the 14x32s... which were a great disappointment (I didn't buy any, my old 10x30 IS have fine optics).

Brief note on Canon 10x30 IS Battery Door issue

As I said earlier SIG don't design or manufacture binoculars, they just pay Kamakura to write SIG on some of their standard binoculars so they can sell them under their brand. As do Kite, Opticron and Vixen (maybe more). All of those that seem the same I would expect to be the same.

    Shopping for new binoculars

As I recall children's pupils can open to 7mm but adults usually end up at 6mm max after a while, so going above that may not be helpful...

Brief note on Canon 10x30 IS Battery Door issue

The Zulu-6 are, as I understand it from these forums and CloudyNights, just a standard Kamakura binocular badged by SIG, they make Guns but not Optics... Also badged by Kite (plus Opticron and Vixen): https://www.kiteoptics.com/en/nature/products/stabilized-optics/bino-apc-stabilized-30/...

    Which camera?

Also with the RX10m4 you could consider getting a spare battery (actually for any of the cameras discussed here), as if you forget to charge the camera it could run out quickly, plus if you use it a lot it will regardless. There is a special caveat with the RX10m4 as it can be powered and/or run...
