    Hunting Hobby.

    Just spent 20 mins or so watching a Hobby hunting over Madeley (North Staffs). Couldn't see what it was hunting but judging by how many times it was taking prey from its talons said to me that it was a successful hunt. Thought I had seen them in previous years over Madeley but never really had...

    There seems to be lots of blackbirds around my local patch in Madeley. Has anyone else noticed a jump in numbers recently? They're stuffing themselves on the local berry trees, which after the summer we've had, are groaning under the weight of berries.

    Had a tree sparrow on the feeders a couple of weeks ago, now i've got a whole family, mum,dad and three youngs uns. is the tree sparrow making a come back.

    Apedale C P. Had great views of female whitethroat at apedale this morning in the hedge which borders the paddock,also male blackcap,there was quite a few of those dotted around the park. Others include male bullfinch,garden/willow warbler but no sign of the cuckoo though, as for the rest. . ...

    Managed to catch the LITTLE EGRET in madeley today,first saw it on the river by the pond then it flew into a tree near to the old vicarage,got really close views. :t::t::t:
