    I have 3 female and 2 male black-caps that visit my feeders in the garden, and I've just noticed that 1 of the females has a silver ring on it's right leg.Presume I have to be able to some-how read the ring before I can identify it's origins? Any ideas please? Jools

    Well, I've just visited the rspb site and listened to the songs of both mistle thrush and robin - and it would more likely be the robin. Thanx for help. Jools

    Would I be correct in thinking that a bird I heard singing just now could be a mistle thrush? very melodic, not a song thrush. The weeping silver birch tree it's in has a street light on, right next to it - 12:15am. Jools

    I have heard a song thrush singing it's beautiful varied song in shrubbery near me. Can any-one tell me whether just the male sings ,or does the female of the species also sing? Thanx Jools

    I joined last night (when every-one else was asleep!) I enjoy watching the birds from my kitchen window (which is where I spend most of my time ) I have several feeders attached to the window and can watch the birds really up close as I have a special reflective film so's they can't see in and...
