    Speculative 10x30/32 question

They were a bargain and would be 30% more from a second hand dealer in the UK

    Speculative 10x30/32 question

Do the 10x32FL still hold up? They seem to still go for a premium second hand but also don't come up for sale much.

    Derbyshire County Birding

Carsington is so heavily watched it would of been reported if it was there, especially if around Stones If you're not aware daily sightings are posted here http://www.carsingtonbirdclub.co.uk/cbc/blog/latest-sightings/ Several of the regulars post sightings most days on twitter and on the...

I wouldn't say unreliable but it can be consistent in mistaking the same call for the wrong thing if that's what is in its library. Last year it kept giving me redstart for chiffchaff in one location. In time you can learn what to ignore but best is to validate visually what it's saying

Budget 16x binoculars or straight scope?

Good option for the budget - this is the earlier ED version Opticron MM3 50ED c/w 12-36x HDF Eyepiece and Stay On Case - Used | Viking Optical Centres Clifton had the angled version body only for 200 yesterday but looks like it's gone

Optics Fair at Dunkeld - advice on 10x42s

Just to say, if you were considering the Verano's, there is an ex demo pair here for a decent saving: Ex-Demo Opticron Verano BGA VHD 10x42 Binoculars 100% Japanese Made I do rate the Vikings though and think you'll like them on testing

Optics Fair at Dunkeld - advice on 10x42s

I had some kestrels in 8x42 and they are great for the money, I had to jump up to the £1000 bracket to find anything I thought worth moving to. I also wear glasses, I think I compared them to the peregrines and I couldn't see enough of a difference between them to justify not getting the kestrels

Very light* setup (binoculars + scope)

Nice light setup,I would seriously consider looking at a monopod,I birder with a small scope and monopod for a good while and it makes for a great setup, either carried on a shoulder strap, over the shoulder or hung off a belt

    SFL vs. Aurora...

I also find them better than the conquests and MHG's

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

Four months and hundreds of hours of use later, I am still very happy with these. Recently got some 8x32 zeiss conquest hd as a deal turned up that seemed too good to be true and I know you can't compare a 32 and 42mm but the zeiss aren't much smaller and I much prefer the aurora's, glare in...
