    Walking in Yasuni, sudendly I saw this crested eagle on top of me. I was carrying a 500mm lens. I didn´t have time to change lenses or move far away. All I got was this half portrait.

    Crested Eagle, dark morph. Yasuní, Ecuador. After 20 years birding, I am pretty sure this is the rarest bird I have ever photographed.

    There are many places like this in Ecuador. it is a widespread model for Eco-lodges. Cabañas San Isidro Mirador Rio Blanco Sachatamia (excellent food and birds) Bellavista Sumaco Wild Life Many amazonian lodges etc.

    Oropéndola Verde also called Cacique Verde. This bird performed a complicated dance 30 feet in front of me. Singing and swinging for almost 5 minutes.
