Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25 vs. Swarovski CL Curio 7x21 vs. Kowa Genesis 10x22

Do you think one of the issues with the 10X22 Kowa could be that it has the smallest exit pupil of the three?

THIS is how service should be...

I didn't know a thing about this! Never heard of Liberty Optics. I of course I looked it up. There is quite a lot of info on this. Vortex really did go to bat for their reputation and product.

THIS is how service should be...

Hi, So I bought a new Vortex Razor UHD 10X50 over the Christmas Holiday. I saw a good deal and said why not? I liked the binocular optically BUT the hinge tension was a little on the loose side and the focus adjustment was too hard to adjust. I decided to return it and see if they could take...

Where do I go from here?

So if you want to try something new/different...be patient and wait for a good deal on a Meopta S2 OR a Kowa 883. As you mentioned the MM4 IS a lightweight scope for 77mm. My thoughts were I'd go down a notch in tripod weight which I did. Example: MM4 77 with Gitzo GT1545T/Leofoto BV-5 -...

Cabela's Intrepid HD 10x42 by Vortex

IDK.... I searched the internet and I'm sure you did too. The best idea I could come up with is it's pretty close to a Viper HD....some say it IS a Viper HD. HTH

Terrible Swarovski customer service for NL coating failure - No response for a month, then a $50 charge for expedited service

I mean....of course you are EXACTLY correct! This is a binocular that currently cost over $3000 USD. Why not send the guy a loaner instead of charging $50 for expedited service? Consider "expedited" service is probably what used to be "typical" service. No...not nearly good enough and the...

A Zeiss Conquest HD on steroids.

I've never found that to be so. The movement is stiff when new. I worked them up and down several times and have since functioned just fine. Saying this....I don't feel the need to adjust the eyecups on ANY binoculars every time I used them. Most times they are exactly where I left them on...

    Kowa 88A Eye Relief

That's a nice scope! So I have the 88S...for me ER is enough....better than the 95STX....not quite as good as the S2 with the 20-70 EP. Be sure the eyecup on the eyepiece is all the way in/down.

tripod and head for vortex razor

....and a Manfrotto 190/290 to go with it. About as inexpensive as you can go. I used this combo for years.

Where do I go from here?

Having owned a 95 STX, a Kowa TSN 884, and now have a TSN-88S, a MM4 77, 2 Meopta S2s, and several smaller objective scopes....the MM4 77 is a really good scope. I actually bought it to be a lighter weight "large objective" scope and it fills that role quite nicely. I've compared it to the S2...

    ATC 17-40x56 underwhelming

I considered it for sure... BUT I've read too many negative reports concerning the tripod connection point.

    Mid-level 10x50 (Maven B6) vs Alpha 10x42 (Noctivid)

So they are a little heavy. Quite honestly, there isn't much way around a really good 10X50 not being a little on the heavy side. The EL 10X50(no AK prism) about 36oz and the Razor UHD about 37oz per my scale. Both of these worked fine with me and my eyeglasses. One option I haven't tried...

    Mid-level 10x50 (Maven B6) vs Alpha 10x42 (Noctivid)

Hi Lewis, Maven makes a good binocular! I really liked the B2 9X45. Kind wish I still had it. That B6 10X50 would probably be a good one. BUT... The BEST 10X50 is the Swarovski EL 10X50. You could find one here and there at a discounted price since it has been d/c. That's the one I'd get...

Trinovid pre-HD 8x42 vs Ultravid BR 8x42 vs Ultravid HD 7x42

This is really an easy choice...the 7X42 UVHD. Newest glass and best coatings of the group. It will be very close to a current UVHD+ plus optically.

    Upgrade to TSN-88 from TSN-883?

So I have the TSN-88S...and two Meopta S2s. And very recently had a TSN-883 and a STX-95. From my perspective the difference between any of those is not really much of an upgrade in any direction. The TSN-883/884 are probably the birding scopes all others are compared to. I'd sit tight and...
