    That's what I was thinking too but I didn't know what their tails looked like in flight. I'm hoping to see them again and hopefully get some pictures. Maybe there was a visitor in with the flock that had the dark bill that I noticed.

    Came across a delightful flock of small sparrow/finch birds enjoying a fall harvest in the yard. They do not look like juncos but are mostly a dark greyish colour, black eyes, sharp dark bill, whitish underparts ... the main identifiably different thing is that they have 2 white feathers in...

    If you're on XP, there's also the Powertoy provided freely by Microsoft which will add a resize option to the "right click" on photos. It's called "Image Resizer" and the link can be found in the right hand column near the end of the page. Click Here for the Powertoys page.

    Brant's Goose --- in Ottawa!!!

    Far from the tundra, first time I've ever seen a Brant's Goose in Ottawa! This one has quite the lump on it's head.
