    Wintering Blackcaps

Has anyone else got wintering Blackcaps in their garden? Over the last week I have had two male's that have been feeding on fat blocks in my garden in Ipswich, Suffolk. They are incredibly aggressive to all the other birds even the Great Tits that normally take over the fat feeders.

    Bermuda 2008

Niels, Stephen, Thank you for picking up on this post. I emailed the Bermuda Audubon Society a while ago for some advice on bird guides and meeting up with some local birders. However, I've not had any response yet. Not sure if this is because email is not being picked up. The website doesn't...

Hi, I am finalising my arrangements for a trip to Bermuda in October 2008. I understand that the Bermuda Audubon Society may have a birding weekend during the month, can someone give me anymore information on this? If any Bermudan birders pick this post up then I would love to hear from you...

    Suffolk Birding

Alton Water, Sat 05 January. Managed to get out for a late afternoon stroll at Alton Water and walked from the Lemonshill Bridge car park along the north west shore towards Holbrook and then back across the fields to Tattingstone. Despite the fading light (hurrah for Leica's) it was great to be...

    Alton Water, Suffolk

Gi, 94 is a brilliant total for one day, even better when just on a bike! Will you be posting your list/ locations anywhere? I'd be interested in where you went and what you saw around the Ipswich area as it's an area I'd like to bird more in 2008. Bill.

    Alton Water, Suffolk

Gi, Happy new year to you. How did you get on in the New Years Day Challenge? Did you just use your bike as last year? Gave Holywells Park a good go this morning and saw 33 species- are you still birding the park? Managed a year list of 70 species for the park in 2007. Hope to catch up with...

    Half price bird books!

My local "Books etc" (Holborn, Central London) is selling the "Collins Birds of the World" and Stephen Moss's "Remarkable Birds" for half price. Not sure if this is a national thing but anyone looking for last minute Xmas presents or to add to the library may be interested. Cheers, Bill
