    El Calafate or Iguazu Falls

Thanks for that. If its Andy Lawson that you are referring to having put a post out with an offer, its Andy that I'm going with. He is wanting to do Patagonia for a week before we head on the cruise from BA. I think some guys were looking at doing Iguazu and others down at El Calafate but I...

    El Calafate or Iguazu Falls

I know there will be birds in El Calafate that I could score later on the cruise but we are obviously time restricted on the stop offs and Andean Condor is probably my most sought-after bird. On saying that, the lure of Toco Toucans at Iguazu Falls is just as tempting. Taking the cruise out of...

    El Calafate or Iguazu Falls

Looking for some advice, got a week in early February 2022 before heading on a cruise to Antarctica and wondered which of the above would be best and give you the most birds. Having never been to South America, mostly everything is going to be new for me so totally undecided what to do. Any...

Help required A friend of mine who isn't on Birdforum is visiting Reykjavik in 3 weeks time for 3 days and would be keen to see Harlequin Duck, Barrow's Goldeneye, King Eiders and Gyr Falcon. Is there anywhere in Reykjavik or nearby where it is possible for him see any of the above. Any help...

    Looking for advice

I am in Northumberland this weekend and wondered if anyone could tell me if you get Ruddy Darters in the county anywhere or in Durham if need be. Still haven't seen one so would be very keen to catch up with one. If there are any other dragon gems in the counties ie any Damsel sp, that would be...

    Dragonfly ID's Required

Looking for some help with these two, taken in Bulgaria in May this year. I think one of them is a white-tailed Skimmer but have no idea what the other is. I thought possibly Yellow-winged Darter but the blue ish eyes have thrown me. Any help greatly appreciated. Dennis

    Steller's Eider in Reykjavik

Not sure how rare Steller's Eiders are in Iceland or what there state of play is but a friend of mine was in Reykjavik on March 23rd and had a female close in near to the main harbour by a bright yellow lighthouse if that makes any sense to any locals. Although I don't have any images to hand...

Birding around West Chester and Downingtown

I was there in mid August the last time Jeff and there were still some Wood Duck around. My friend just messaged me ten minutes ago to say he had double figures of Bufflehead on a near by pond to him so will check those out first and see how it goes. cheers Dennis

Birding around West Chester and Downingtown

Thanks very much for that Jeff. I paid a visit to Tinicum the last time I was over (August 2014) and loved it although there wasn't much in the way of Duck apart from Wood Duck and Mallard. I also went down to Conowingo that trip and loved all the eagles and pay another visit. I'm really...
