A couple from Phillip Island, Victoria Australia

Another vote for Wedgie (pics 2&3)...and Musk Duck. First pic looks like a different bird to me, and could pass for an underexposed, dark Whistling Kite? For the raptor in 2&3, there are only a handful of large raptors likely to be seen around Melbourne, and most are easily ruled out here...

    Botswana, Nov'17

Cisticola is near Camp Okavango on the delta. Guide had this as a Chirping. Looks better for Luapula against my guide (Hancock & Weiersbye), but probably Chirping against an internet search Pipit is from Xakanaka section of Moremi, Botswana. Guide told me it was a Bushveld Pipit, but it was...

Raptors, Savute, Chobe NP, Botswana -Nov'17

Thanks Tom Are you confident on the Wahlbergs? I don't have anything better...just that we saw Wahlbergs elsewhere on the trip and this felt considerably smaller in the field. Re. 4&5, I had both of these as Yellow-Billed Kites in the field, just review of photos that had me questioning. In...

    Lark species, Savute, Botswana, Nov'17

Yes...I realise it was a long shot (excuse terrible pun), and I may have to write this one off! Really just hoping I might find someone who knew the patch...and could confirm that the place is crawling in {Lewis's enigmatic Long-Tailed Pipits} Some more sensible pipit shots to follow

    Lark species, Savute, Botswana, Nov'17

OK...I know I'm asking a lot here! These were well beyond the range of my 400mm lens...so just hoping someone knows the region and recognises species based on jizz. 90% sure all are the same individual These shots were taken near the Marabou maintained water hole in Savute Thanks

Raptors, Savute, Chobe NP, Botswana -Nov'17

Hi ~4,000 photos from honeymoon safari trip to Botswana and amazingly only about 10 birds unidentified! A collection of raptors here from the Savuti region of Chobe NP: 1) Not a clue! 2-3) This one had our guide stumped...so he said it was a Steppe Buzzard. I can't match that against my...

Wader IDs - Hoi An, Vietnam

Thanks all. Straight, narrow bill and slimmer frame to distinguish Marsh over G/shank? Relative size against the Wood Sandpiper that pushed me to g/shank originally

ID help - Hoi An, Vietnam

Hi. Spotted along a water course near shrimp & fish farming ponds outside of Hoi An, central Vietnam. The tail looks like Zitting Cisticola, which were common in nearby paddyfields, but the head, bill and jizz look wrong. Plain Prinia? All help gratefully received - thanks!
