    Possible little grebe? River Almond, Edinburgh

    Sounds very like little grebe to me. A couple of pointers they stay under water for ages and pop up dozens of yards away they are considerably smaller than most other divers very browny/dull wrong time of year to be chick of another species all sounds like little grebe to me

    Wader - Pagham, South Coast UK

    Good morning, hoping someone can help identify the wader (bottom left). I thought it was a juvenile greenshank at the time but it doesn't seem to have the down turned bill tip. I've left the redshank in the pic to give an idea of size.

    If you're going to NY then you must check out B&H in Manhattan. Its an absolute mega store of optics and cameras. I believe it claims to be the largest in the US. Walking distance from the main hotel/theatre/Time Square area. B and H Store NY
