    No question, both images show a Flicker. The short, very pointed dark tail feathers are typical of a woodpecker and not really anything else.     Not a great picture but is this an american goshawk or coopers hawk? Washington state may 24.

    Looks good for a Cooper's to my eye based on tail shape and length. Overall proportions seem a good fit for Coop and less so for Goshawk/Sharpie.

    Could be something along the lines of aphids, they are often in large numbers on a single stem, would be easy to pick up a hefty mouthful like this and would fit well with their foraging behaviour. Fwiw, this mouthful will be for feeding young.

    Looks more Buteo-like to me rather than Kite-like. I would concur with Butty that it appears to be an immature Red-tailed.

    Agreed with qwerty5, though I will add that I could see Willow/Alder being candidate for 2nd pic at least. Yellow-bellied can definitely be ruled out.

    Short-billed - steeper angle to black loral line, bill is kinked and on the shorter end of spectrum (for what that's worth), mid-flanks spotted etc.
