LOL, Doc Duck and others; not, it is not jelly-belly; it is a seed from a wild plant near the feeder. Apparently they feed so comfortable near the feeder that they "bring their own brown bag" and eat there. I am close behind a hide. Thanks for your comments everyone!!

Love the iridescent blueish or purple color. The light was hitting the right way for colors to show. Good capture! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful colors and pose. The tugs behind the bird's head follow the marks (lines) on the heard. Things we can't plan! TFS, Armando

Thanks to KC Foggin and Nutcracker for helping me ID this bird. I like them very much, but I still have not seen a bird I don't love. I am trying to put out different feeds to see if I attract new species. In the meantime, this is not a bad picture! Greetings to all who post in this forum.

    Northern Cardinal

Please, is this a juvenile male or adult female? I am not getting new species into my backyard feeders, so it is time to post some old-time, often-photographed, favorites. Northern Cardinals are gorgeous, albeit abundant.

    Northern Cardinal, male

I am not getting new species into my backyard feeders, so it is time to post some old-time, often-photographed, favorites. This male Northern Cardinal has enough pose and gallantry to fit my goal.

The light shinning through the leaves hit the right spot. Good capture!

Beautiful birds. I would love to photograph them! You were able to focus on the bird very well through the fence. Not all cameras can do this...and not all photographers know how to! Good job. TFS Armando

Same individual bird as previous picture. I cropped-in to better show the bird's head and eyes. Nice visit to my backyard!! Maybe this hawk was the reason why I did not see many birds on the feeders.
