    Thanks for the very quick replies. I saw it in a local reservoir in Cornwall. My books covered the UK and Europe. So no wonder I couldn't ID it.

    1.4x converters Sigma ExDG v CanonmkII

    Has anyone got an opinion on which one is the best to use with a 100-400mm ? I am aware that there are focus problems, but I use a teleplus pro 300 DG at present (taped pins) and wonder if I could get better IQ with the latest siggy or mkII canon. Can't afford a new mkIII ! Thanks for reading...

    That looks great Roy ! Can you post a few details of how you attached the 7D to the scope, perhaps a photo of the set up ? Checking the cost against a prime lens it looks like a very cost effective option.
