mmmmm...peeeeanuts

mmmmm...peeeeanuts (Garrulus glandarius)

Jays have a real weakness, one could almost say a fetish, for peanuts. The ones at work are totally unapproachable normally but bung some peanuts down and they soon come in to fill their faces. This shot is uncropped, as you can see I put the log up a bit too close to start with, after this session I moved it a bit further away.
Habitat
Open woodland
Location
Private site, Surrey
Date taken
2/3/08
Scientific name
Garrulus glandarius
Equipment used
Canon 40D, 600mm f4
Yet another very good photo Clive. It looks like the 40D and 600mm lense is giving you some great results. Well done!
Rookery.

Wow, a collector he is Clive, great shot :t::t::t: I have the same experience, they won't come to visit my garden unless there are peanuts around, they just don't touch any other food

That's a brilliant shot Clive! A crisp and clear image! Great work! :t::t::t:
