Laviana White-Skipper (Heliopetes laviana: Hesperiidae) Wingspan 3.5-4.2 cm (1.4-1.7 in). Nectaring Texas Creeping Ox-eye (Wedelia texana: Asteraceae).
Habitat
South Texas Plains vegetation area, Lower Rio Grande Valley, adjacent to the Rio Grande, Tamaulipan thornscrub riparian with native wildflower and shrub planting to attract butterflies and birds at ca. 43 m (140 ft) elevation.
Location
National Butterfly Center, Mission, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA.
