Very interesting behaviour! I also like the way it extends the wings to show the blue feathers and its unusually upright posture.

Yes, its eyes also appear slightly pinned. That's usually a sign in birds they're experiencing some sort of emotion, eg excitement, curiosity, happiness, anger, or fear etc. Strange behaviour indeed.
