Destruction - slowly but steadily (1 Viewer)

A bit off topic - and then, maybe not...

If you want to see the Beauty of South Sinai's nature, you better hurry.

Slowly, but steadily Nature gets destroyed here. Every day another few square meters disappear under either construction trash, household trash or so called developments.

Latest Sharm el Sheikh rumor has it, that part of the Nabq nature preserve park has been sold to a private investor.

How's that possible you ask?

Come to Egypt, close to anything is possible here.

Just not to preserve Nature and the Eco system, it seems.

Yepp, all we need here is more apartments and Hotels :(

Supposedly, officially there's a building stop until 2014.
Just the already begun structures can be / must be finished.

Right.

:(

Well, the container ship is finally gone, the destruction to the reef still there and nothing that can be done about it.
Official news? Still nothing :(

The mayor of Sharm is supposedly right now working on a map that will show us legal and illegal dumping areas for construction and household trash.

As soon as we have that map, we can point out illegal dumpings.

Maybe we can have a little hope that Sharm will go Green one day (and not only with more gardens in Hotels...)
