    The Bluetail was showing superbly this afternoon at Sandy Point, cracking little bird. Also present but not seen by me is a Firecrest. John.

    Popped down to Farlington this morning to twitch the Lapland Bunts. Three showing really well at the deeps, also had juv Little Stint close by & an Osprey out in the harbour. John.

    Popped down to Testwood today & got 2 Hawfinches after a 2 & half hour vigil. They came in around 12:30 & showed well but briefly in the tree tops near the visitor centre as per Paul's directions. Cheers, John.

    Oops forgot to mention on last post, anyone seen the Hawfinches that have been reported at Testwood Lakes & would care to elaborate in terms of no's, time etc?? Cheers, John.

    Spent the afternoon at the Oysterbeds today, at least 5 Black Necked Grebe in Langstone Channel, poss had the Female type velvet Scoter but too distant to clinch it. Nice few hours though, great views of the wader gathering at high tide on the shingle banks. John.

    Farlington Good selection of Raptors present this morning, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, watched a Peregine attempt to snatch a wader from the lagoon, & best of all a Female Marsh Harrier quartering the reedbed nr the info hut. Also the Avocet was still present on the lagoon. John.

    Spent a very pleasant day down in the Forest today birding at a leisurely pace. Highlights were 2 Wood Warbler, lots of Redstart, a small party of Marsh Tits, & Goshawk. Also heard Firecrest but sadly too high in the canopy to see. John.

    The LEO still showing well today at Farlington & ditto the 2nd W Glaucous at the Oyster Beds as well as Med Gulls & 12 Black Necked Grebe. John.

    The drake Green Winged Teal was showing well this morning at Farlington, no sign of the Wryneck up to lunch time when I left but an Osprey was present in the Harbour. John.

    Nice morning at Farlington, 2 Curlew Sands, Spotshank, Beardies showing well early on, 4 Knot in the Harbour, Merlin perched on a fence post, White Wagtail on the edge of the lagoon being the highlights. John.

    The Spotted Crake was seen in an area with no public access apparently!

    I was at Farlington this morning, still 1 Spoonbill present early on the stream. Also seen - Black Tailed Godwit, Green Sandpiper, Greenshank along with a nice selection of the common warblers - both Whitethroats, Blackcap, Reed & Sedge, & a very smart Willow Warbler. John.

    Apparently seen this morning opposite the Ely pub on the A30 but no futher sign this afternoon, bugger was gonna twitch it after work tonight! John.
