    American Black Duck at Frövisjön, Västmanland, Sweden on May 28. Nice bird although the Baikal Teal I saw at the same place last year was certainly more striking (but sadly considered an escape and so no tick).

    Your Most Recent "Life" Bird

    Just home after a trip to Portugal which gave 17 lifers, the last one being Great Bustard. Other highlights was Spanish Imperial Eagle, Great Spotted Cuckoo and Spectacled Warbler. Lots of brilliant birds! :)

    Finally managed to see a Penduline Tit last week. They have been eluding me for years, but haveing learned about a nest on Öland it was easy to find the male close by. And then, just to make things even better, I found another one at Ottenby on the same island, this one showing superbly. Brilliant!

    The island of Björn has given me not one but two lifers in the last few weeks. First an Eastern Olivaceous Warbler (only the fourth for Sweden!) and then two weeks later I happened to be there when the ringers came back from a net round with a Radde's Warbler... very nice!

    A Lanceolated Warbler turned up in Jämtland woth perfect timing, as I usually go there around this time of year anyway to trek in the mountains.     I don't know what it is with Angarnssjöängen, but the place have given me no less than three lifers so far this year... American Wigeon, Red-footed Falcon and today a Black-winged Pratincole. Great!

    Would you know, turns out that the harrier WAS a Pallid... I got back there this morning trying to see the bird better, and got some pics of it sitting on a well. Put the pics on the net and got it id:ed as a 2 cy male Pallid... nice! Put some pics on my blog, see signature. :)
