    it's 6499 Wood Pigeons & a single Hawfinch. counters use little hand-held devices with multiple count facilities, so they just keep pressing the button every time they see a particular species, so the counts aren't a single flock which would be approximate, they're continuous for the time...

    pec sand at BMW this afternoon. distant views on far side of pool in front of visitor's centre, just about directly opposite. it kept disappearing behind bits of vegetation, so only viewable a few seconds at a time. a hobby whizzed past shortly after my arrival

    woodcock seen briefly this morning at central park, wallasey. i was waiting for my usual bus over to town for work, more or less opposite the art school entrance to central park on liscard road. a woodcock flushed out of the trees, headed over the road & over my head before arcing back into the park

    i'll have a look when i get home jane, but i don't think i made any notes on this cos it was just a "kentish"... i take it you're trying to see if it can be turned into a snowy? certainly be interesting to view any photos. good luck...
