    ouse washes rspb Pratincole

    Directions from pager: Black-winged Pratincole still this morning(monday) 10.15 Ouse Washes RSPB. 300 YDS North of Stevens hide. Take A142 to Chatteris, follow to Manea, then follow signs from village. Park by Vis/Ctr and walk N/ for 2.5 miles Good luck if you go.

    Great evening at March farmers yesterday - with the Great white Egret giving constant viewing - albeit distantly. Bittern doing regular flypasts. Single Spoonbill, plus Hobby and Cranes Dipped the Ibis 5 times now :(

    March Farmers. Still 5 Spoonbill 6pm 2 Curlew till 5.45 pm - when they flew high n/e 1 Green Sandpiper 5.30, in the n/e corner 2 Garganey, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Ringed Plover, plus Cuckoo.

    Single Barn Owl and Turtle Dove were my best birds on my morning walk of Walpole Highway - also the biggest swarm of bees I've seen in many a year.

    Having hardly seen any Grey Wagtail in Norfolk this year it was pleasing to see two pairs at different sites in West Norfolk this afternoon - with a Spotted Flycatcher chucked in for good measure.
