Immature or juvenile bald eagle - Eastern Ontario, Canada

Four days ago in eastern Ontario, Canada I saw this young bald eagle being mobbed by a small bird, but can't tell if the eagle is immature or a juvenile. Is there enough detail in this bad image quality shot to determine which it is?

Female Common or Red-breasted Merganser? Eastern Ontario, Canada

Saw this merganser today on the Saint Lawrence Seaway in eastern Ontario, Canada. My first thought was a female common merganser, but now I'm not sure if it's a female Red-breasted Merganser. Any thoughts? It also looks like its upper mandible is broken. I've never seen that before.

Bald Eagle with a kill - Eastern Ontario, Canada

Thanks, Michael. About all we have in this immediate area are Canada geese, although in the region there are sometimes snow geese, which this definitely wasn't.

Bald Eagle with a kill - Eastern Ontario, Canada

This morning in eastern Ontario, Canada I saw this bald eagle on the ice of the Rideau Canal dining on a kill. All I've ever seen them eating before this was fish, but this looks like it might have been a Canada Goose. Can anyone tell if that's a correct ID?

    Female Mallard? Eastern Ontario, Canada

Saw this duck in eastern Ontario, Canada this morning. I'm pretty sure it's a female mallard, but not certain. ID? I'm also curious about what it was doing, just floating in the water with its bill half submerged and stayed that way the whole time I watched it. Sleeping?

Fledgling or Juvenile Northern Flicker - Eastern Ontario, Canada

Saw this yellow-shafted male northern flicker this morning in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It was odd because the bird was sitting on the ground as shown and when I got too close it tried to fly, but not very well or very far or high. So I'm wondering if it's a fledgling or juvenile. Looked pretty...

Cooper's Hawk? - Eastern Ontario, Canada

Shot this yesterday in eastern Ontario, Canada. The bird was not posing cooperatively, partially obstructed by branches. These are the best two shots I got, which are heavily cropped from 3000mm images. I think it's maybe a cooper's hawk or a sharp-shinned hawk, however not enough of the bird is...

Ring-billed Gull? - Eastern Ontario, Canada

Shot this morning in Eastern Ontario, Canada, I think this is probably a Ring-billed Gull because that's about the only kind of gull I see around here, but on this one I can't see the ring, although it's got the white tips on the wings like a ring-billed. Can anyone confirm or correct that ID?
