    So the reservation people for ProAves hotels send me pdfs with this map in it. Does that mean that technically I could walk through path within the reserve all the way to the ridge? Hard to say where this entrance on the top right in the picture is and where it is. Any idea?

    In Costa Rica, El Avion restaurant in Quepos. Me and my partner were desperate to see the scarlet macaws and knew from ebird stats that they had been reported there. So we went, sat at a table with direct view on the valley (gorgeous by the way), are and saw them passing through.

    Thanks I will have a proper look at all these suggestions. I am very tempted by Termalez del Ruiz because of the access to the pools which would be nice after long days out. All these hotels have currently no availability for next year. They seem to wait before releasing availabilities. Strange!
